"Over the past two years had so many pet deaths...First my Lovely Guinea-pig Molly when she had a lump on her throat bless her - and had to be put down, leaving behind her sister Holly..Then sally the tortoishell cat who was there all my life and was put to sleep, That hit me so hard. Then my aunties yorkshire terrier Casper last week and now this week my nan and auntie's dog Bracken the labrador retriever who had been there all my life. Am I just stricken with bad luck!? :( It's horrible. And as Brackens arthritis let him down and at the grand age of 13 almost 14 - I miss him so much. It's not the same without him there sleeping on his bed or giving me a friendly lick or greeting me with his teddy. I miss him so much and it brings tears to my eyes even writing on here. I wish he was still here. He was such a friendly dog with such alot of love and affection to give. He was still wagging his tail right untill the end. Although I know deep down my nan and auntie made the right decision, I still can't stop thinking how he could still be here - but then I wouldn't have wanted him to suffer. :( :( R.i.p Bracks :( xx"

From Facebook:

Fran Spinks Laura, your letter was very sad, it made me cry too, I don't think that its a case of you having bad luck with all your four legged furry friends. I am sure that you are drawn to animals that are in need of lots of love and tender care, and you are the one who has provided that for them. I am sure they have all had the best lives ever with you, It can be a gift you know, albeit a heartbreakingly one for you. Bracken was in your life for nearly 14 years, he got old and very tired, and probably in pain as well, so he has been taken to doggy heaven where he can now run free, like a young pup again, he will always be with you, walking beside you, and secretly licking your tear stained face, listen and open your senses, you might even be aware of his presence... You can never fill the void that Bracken has left in your heart, as each pet is individual, but you can fill a void in another creature's heart, one that needs all the love that you are able to give, what a memorial to all your other lovely animals that have passed your way. I am so sorry for your deep loss. RIP Bracken....
