MORAG

I got her Morag in 1996, an abandoned kitten who had cat flu. I only went to the rescue centre to collect my Tabby cat but she made so much noise as if to say, & take me with you
I persuaded them to let me have her, she was in such a sorry state and they said it would be touch and go with her. Rescue Centres do not have a lot of funds to pay for treatment and I could afford the best for this poor, pathetic little kitten who deserved to be given a chance. With lots of love and care and a brilliant Vet Morag pulled through. She never grew much and remained kitten size all her life, think she lapped it up when people referred to her as a kitten and by that time she was 15 !!! She lost virtually all her teeth as a kitten and always had a weepy eye. Morag was determined and even with four brothers she ruled the house, she would push them away from their food bowls and they were so much bigger and stronger than her. She is the only cat that I have had who could open a locked cat flap by lifting the door towards herself. She could open normal doors too; she was clever and very wise. She would even get into the pond (she could swim) as she knew that meant a bath and the hairdryer which she loved, think the Koi got used to her .Her best friend was my neighbours extremely large dog, they looked like the odd couple and Sheeba loved her. Morag went blind and had lost weight and the Vet could do nothing for her as she was nearing 17 and not very strong. She wasn’t in pain so I decided that rather than have her PTS I would let her enjoy what little time she had left at home where she belonged. She fell asleep during the night so her ending was peaceful and she had her brothers and sisters with her, all 10 of them and all rescue cats. I miss her but I am so thankful that she had a good and long life as she was not expected to survive kitten stage. I suppose every day I had her was a bonus. You ruled the house here, you were so determined and the boys knew who was boss, I can imagine you doing the same at Rainbow Bridge but that's what I loved about you. Well little lady you will never be forgotten, I have happy memories that will remain in my heart. Run free at Rainbow Bridge, you're with Hamish 1, Georgios, Poppy and Hamish 11 now and no doubt you’ll all be getting up to mischief. Love you my little Rags, you were such a character, thank you for letting me be your human. xxxx Still love and miss you and now we have Constance otherwise known as Beady and she got your personality, everything she does reminds me of you, I'm sure you sent her here. xxx
