Kirkie

Kirkie, we adopted you as an X stud dog from a puppy farm at the age of 6 and you trembled all the way home. You were absolutely traumatised. It took a long time for you to begin to trust humans but gradually, with the help of all our other rescue dogs, you began to feel at home. You loved your walks, holidays and running in the fields and you showed us what a very gentle and happy dog you could be.
Last Monday you were showing signs of being unwell when you didn't' finish your dinner. On Tuesday we took your temperature and it was 37 degrees, a degree lower than normal. By Wednesday you had lost all your energy so we took you to the vet. He was very concerned and admitted you for a scan and tests. An hour later we received the heart-breaking call to say that we needed to get there quickly as you wouldn't last for much longer. They had found a large tumour on your liver which had erupted and you were bleeding internally. Twenty minutes later you passed to the rainbow bridge in our arms and we are still in total shock.
Kirkie, our beautiful mini snauzer, we'll miss you forever and the pain is so intense at the moment that it's hard to function. RIP our darling and we hope you're with Alfie who we also lost last September.
