Napoleon

In 2005 we adopted Napoleon & his brother Nelson and they soon settled into their new home. ;-) They would lie side by side on our bed of a night like a pair of bookends.... chase one another round the garden... have fights indoors and cover the carpet with black fur... wash one another which usually led to another fight! In June 2009 our beloved Napoleon was knocked down and killed by a car and although we still had Nelson my heart felt as though it might break. Napoleon was more than just a cat.... he was my lovely, furry friend who was always there and he gave his love unconditionally... I miss the funny, daft, silly and cute things that he used to do.... like jumping up on your lap especially if you were reading a newspaper..... or the way he loved sitting on the bath mat... if he heard the bath water start running he would be there like a shot and would stay there while I was in the bath.... it wasn't uncommon for him to follow me down the road when I left for work in the morning and I would end up having to take him back... Napoleon would always sit on or in anything such as a box... my clothes or even a Marks & Spencer carrier bag!....whilst I was on the PC in the spare room Napoleon would be there too snoozing on the bed... if I went to do gardening or just to sit outside he would be there purring, rolling over and letting me stroke him. He was such a unique, funny, affectionate, cheeky and friendly cat and although I still miss him terribly I am so grateful for the four and a half years we had together....I so wish he could be back here with us but just hope that he is still as mischevious and happy in pet heaven... although cruelly taken from this world I have my happy memories and beautiful photos of him to cherish....sleep tight my funny, beautiful little fur baby. <3
