Cassandra

01/05/87 - 16/09/15

In loving memory of my gentle giant, Lady Cassandra the First. You were more than just a pet to us all. The children grew up with and you were so gentle, loving and protective of them all. Caring for them as they all learnt to ride and giving them such confidence. We had so many great times riding free over the heath and surrounding area and you excelled in the Hunt. A more solid and gentle horse I have never known and doubt will ever again. Now you can rest those weary legs and ride high with Crispin and Mindy by your side. Until we meet again. Forever in my heart you will remain. I'm lost without you. We will never forget you. RIP Cass xxxxx

Cassidy

Unknown - 10/11/16

My ginger boy, you came to us after you were left in the curb after a horrific road accident - I was working as a vet nurse when you came in. You put up with awful, invasive treatments for over four months living with us in practice as no one had come forward to claim you, and then..it was Christmas eve. 'Who will take Cassidy home for a few days?' my boss asked, obviously knowing the answer! The site of those huge loving goggling green gooseberry eyes, so full of meaning and joy, had had me at 'this is RSPCA number is No 72684'. Of course, he never went back! He was my baby from the word 'go', my cuddle buddy, my little furry soulmate. He was the most giving, adoring and adored boy I could ever ask for. We shared fourteen years together, and then one day I found him struggling to breathe in the bath. He was all swollen up in his tummy - and terrified, we got him to the vets straight away. They diagnosed instantly that he had last stage heart disease. He had his pleural sacs drained no less than three times in the two weeks following, no anaesthetic, and each time he came back to us looking chirpy, but older. But he was losing weight and condition. One evening I was out to collect my car from the garage, and was delayed (I still can't forgive the man that delayed me) when my father called to say that Cassidy was dying, had keeled over in the kitchen. Of course by the time I was home, a mere ten minutes later, my boy was gone. I was heartbroken. My little fella, died without me there. After all you'd been through Cass, I feel so guilty for not having been there for your last cuddle. You were my golden treasure, and I will love and miss you forever.

CAT WITH NO NAME

Unknown - 18/04/18

I heard two vehicles speeding and a massive bang. I ran 100 yards to see what had happened and there was a poor cat in the middle of the road. it was obvious he wasn't going to make it and all I could do was scoop him up, sit on the pavement, talk to him so he knew he wasn't alone and kiss his head. No idea who he was but in those moments as the life drained from his body I loved him as much as I do my own cats.He had no collar on, he was beautiful, large, black, possibly male, about 6 - 10 years old. The poor lady who saw it happen had nearly been run off the road by the car and the white van man who hit him. The van didn't brake or stop but karma is around the corner. I am trying to locate the owner as someone must be missing a beloved pet. If the owner is never traced at least I will remember this precious cat. RIP, run free safe from your pain. xxxx

Sleep soft and run free, little buddy. We will never forget you. In our memories you will be still playing with your favourite toys. You will be still blocking doorways so we have to step over you. You will be still scratching at the bedroom door in the morning for us to let you in so you can lie on the bed for a while until you demand to be fed. You will be still climbing into the small bedroom window after being outside and announce your presence with a little grunt. You will be still presenting us with food you caught yourself. You will be still rolled up in the box beside me while I'm working on the computer. You were the purrrfect pal and our feline family member forever.
